To answer the title of this blog, yes – anxiety can definitely cause weird bodily sensations.
It’s important to note, anxiety doesn’t look the same for everyone. While some experience the common racing thoughts and obsessive thoughts, some may experience more physical symptoms such as stomach upset, numbness and tingling, heart palpitations and more. With the wide array of symptoms that may come with anxiety, I’ve found is easier to break this up into 8 types of anxiety:
(1) Gut Anxiety
(2) Thought Anxiety
(3) Depressive Anxiety
(4) Cardiac/Chest Anxiety
(5) Neurological Anxiety
(6) Angry Anxiety
(7) Endocrine/Hormone Anxiety
(8) Trauma Anxiety
Maybe you already know which type you experience most (and yes, you can have multiple types). Whether you know or not, listening to the 8 Types of Anxiety Podcast series will help you determine which type resonates most with you and offer solutions from a naturopathic perspective and an Ayurvedic perspective.
